-
Have your child read the story to you.
-
Ask your child what he/she thinks about the StarHeart symbol. How can it be a reminder to use their imagination to create positive results?
-
Ask your child to identify people that are creative thinkers, people who use their imagination. Examples include Walt Disney, Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein. Have your child research his/her favorite role model.
-
Create a newsletter with stories and poems that talk about positive events, people that over come difficulties by thinking positively. Send it out to family and friends as an encouragement for them to be StarHeart Ambassadors.
-
Conduct a simple experiment with plants. Put potted plant in the light with good proper watering and put another in the dark and see what happens—“being in the light is such a lot of fun!”
-
Have your child engage his/her friends to create a StarHeart play or musical.
-
Talk with your child about people that have overcome challenges—someone in the family, neighborhood, at school, church etc. See if that person would agree to a short interview to help your child understand how they achieved a particular accomplishment.
- Be aware of news articles on television in the newspaper and point them out to your child for discussion and further research.
